Hope you are doing well. Well as an ambitious young adult it would not be long before you are confronted with the notion of atheism. The belief, that there is no “God”. In modern times, it has been the trend for many young folks, who believe that the world is just a big rational ball, void of irrationalities such as supernatural or spiritual beings. But have you looked at yourself in the mirror before, have you starred at your hands, have you felt hungry, have you felt angry before, happy or loved? Well then a deep thinking about these little things you feel everyday should tell you that you were created, in-fact designed by a supernatural being. Being human is not a product of chance or a long chain of evolution .
This search for this supernatural being is something that has been written all over history. A lot of men in times past have claimed to have found this being and their way of life in regard to the being they said they had found is what is termed as religion. But these people Muhammed, Shinto, Jesus, Moses and many more who are the founders of today’s region all died. That’s where the story should have ended but one man’s heart began to beat again after three days, and behold the one who was killed by the Roman’s rose from the dead. And the empty tomb was His proof, His disciples his testimony. A testimony which is incontrovertible! Because it was sealed by deaths of those who testified to it. Jesus is Alive.
Well, some would say the Jesus story is a joke, it’s a just a myth, a legend or a fabrication. Ghana had its independence on 6th March 1957 AD. Well, the AD means “anno domini”; in the year of our Lord (Jesus) and BC means before Christ. Why would the world’s reference date point be dependent on an inexistent person? This tells us that all claims that Jesus did not exist are false.
Some would also say, the New Testament is a lie. Well, they can check out the Josephus Testamonium, or notes of Pliny the Younger concerning Jesus or Tacitus on Christ and many more historical sources.
I know you have heard so many things but at this time I need you to reason with me as we go through some things people have told you or things you have read elsewhere.
Questions that run through your head are.
If there is God and He will judge us, will I go to heaven?
If Jesus comes today will I go to heaven?
Can I loose the salvation that I have attained?
And Jesus koraaa who is He? The Son? the Father? Or Both?
If there is God and He will judge us, will I go to heaven?
Yes there is God and He will pass judgement. This is because long ago Adam and Eve disobeyed. It was not sex since God gave the instruction to Adam before Eve was created. If it was sex then why will God give it to Adam alone since there was no woman around for Adam to have sex with. So it is not Sex! Before the creation of man , Lucifer had fallen, and this is what he had said
“I will ascend to the Heavens
I will set up my throne above the stars of God
I will sit on the mount of gods’ Assembly in the remotest part of the north
I will ascend above the highest clouds
I will make myself like the Most High”
– Isaiah 14:13 down
In making himself like the Most High, he desired to live independent of God and that is death.
Well that’s what he told Eve (“for God know that when you eat it your eyes will be opened and you shall be like God”, Genesis 3:5 down) . And that also resulted in our death, and we were set apart from God. And since we are all descendants of these two people we were all dead and that’s why the bible says “The wages of sin is death” and the Bible goes ahead and says in Romans 3:23 “For all have sinned and fallen short of the Glory of God”. So God gave the laws to reflect who we were. And behold God’s word was true.
We were indeed sinners, since we could not fulfill the requirements of the law (which was given to Moses). Because of this everyone failed God’s judgement that’s why human kind needed a better sacrifice. A sacrifice worth more than that of bulls and goats which sanctified us but did not justify us. We needed a blood that would make us stand righteous before the mercy seat. A sacrifice that would bear the sins of many once and for all (Hebrews 9:27). Because of this the Creator, God had to invade creation and He manifested in the person of Jesus Christ.
“And most certainly, the mystery of God is great
He was manifested in the flesh
Justified in the Spirit
Seen by angels
Preached among gentiles
Believed on in the world
Taken up in glory ”
– 1 Timothy 3:16.
And because it was God himself that died, the sacrifice is necessary, sufficient and efficient for all mankind. And this He calls a gift and freely gives to all who will believe in the name of Jesus. That is removing your faith from wherever it is and hanging it solely on Christ Jesus. This gift is free and it’s the only key to heaven. Your courteous life has nothing to do with your heaven going since we have established that law defeats anyone who stands in front of it. It is only Jesus that conquers it and He did it without your help and that’s why salvation, justification and righteousness lie solely on Him. And this He freely gives to all who come to him.
And as it is recorded in The Gospel according to John
“But to all who did receive Him, He gave them the right to be children of God” John 1:12 down
And His gift is the Holy Spirit which he baptizes us with (John 1:33).
So if you receive the Holy Spirit regardless of your works but by faith alone (Ephesians 2:8-9) then how can you now loose it through works (lying, fornication, stealing etc.)? For the works we do because we are humans and not angels. But because we are saved by Grace through faith alone it does not imply that we have to be lawless people. Because the law is good and in it we find life (here on earth, not eternal life).But we should know every day that it’s no we doing the law that is gradually saving us but we have already been saved by Christ the very moment we put our whole trust (faith) in him. Because at the mention of Jesus’s Name every knee bows, we cannot be enslaved to demons or spirits or whatever spirit that is not Christ.
Jesus has saved us and we are no longer prisoners of any spirit that held us captive. He has vindicated us of all debts so that we are now more than conquerors and bold we approach the Eternal throne of Justice with Jesus as our righteousness. Because of Jesus the devil in our life has fallen like lightening thus we need no oils, handkerchiefs, holy water or stickers since the power of Jesus surpasses all these things. Why is Jesus power finished when there is no oil? Absolutely no!! We worship him in truth and spirit and He is with us till the end of the age. Healing us, consoling us and winning for us.
So since salvation depends on your faith in him, there is no way you can miss heaven, because of Jesus you are qualified all the time, regardless of where you find yourself ,or what you find yourself doing at the time pf his arrival.
Remember He paid the price not you. In your everyday life try to live at peace with all men (men and women). If someone wrongs you do not wrong them back, instead pray for forgiveness for them Because the Lord says Vengeance is mine and I will repay. Never condemn people before understanding their situation.You could have been worse if you were in their shoes. The Lord’s favor shall be upon you, and you will never fail (not exams ooooo) ,you will succeed. Not the success that comes with stress,anxiety and uncertainty after death. One that comes with joy, happiness, the blessings of the Lord and a certainty after death (since you would be heaven bound because of Him(Jesus)). I have made Jesus my Lord and my God (John 20:28).
